Coat-weight melton wool. Brand new fabric in a deep soft brown, tightly woven and heavier weight at over a pound per yard, almost looks felted. This material is stiffer and denser than other fabrics and would work well if sewing with thinner seams or clipping inner seams.
Melton fabric is a dense tightly woven fabric that is felted and heavily brushed for an ultra-soft hand. This versatile fabric can be used for coats, jackets, vests, blankets, and historical clothing replications. The fabric is twice as thick as shirt flannel.
Sews beautifully. Straight off the bolt! Perhaps a quick scarf or applique with this great fabric.
Sold by the yard and cut to order in a continuous piece
Why wool? It is natural, sustainable, and renewable. I love how easily it sews with ease. Non-flammable, non-allergenic, and just feels good to wear. Durable and timeless is wool.
